Hi Stampers! A few years ago I started off with a blogspot that was about my life and everything I had gone through. Since I stopped writing in a journal, I decided to change everything around a bit. I didn't have a lot of entries, so I started to blog about my craft projects. This blog is where I will upload all of my art, projects and photographs.

A few years ago, I started scrapbooking with my sister. What started off from a $1.00 stamp has grown into an obsession! I absolutely love history, so anything to commemorate it is fine by me! Thanks for stopping by!

My French Boards

Materials:

(1) 16” x 20” Artist Stretched Canvas (bought this at Big Lots for $5)
(1) 72” x 90” Quilt-Light Batting (bought this from Joann’s for $9.99 with 40% off)
(1) 20” x 24” Designer Fabric of your choice (bought from Joann’s for like $1-2)
(1) 5/8” x 18’ (or 6 yards) Ribbon (bought from Joann’s for $2.49)
Industrial Staple Gun
Buttons (optional)
Glue Dots (optional)
Needle/Thread (optional)

When you open the batting it comes doubled up. After cutting the batting to 18” x 22”, I separated the layers and used one layer for each canvas. The batting should be at least 2” bigger than your canvas.

Next, I had Joann’s cut my fabric (which they cut wrong). The fabric should be at least 4” bigger than your canvas to help cover anything up.

Lay your batting on a flat surface and lay your canvas on it with the back side facing you. Staple one side of your batting down to the canvas. While you work your way around, make sure to pull on the batting so that your final surface will be flat and taunt. *This is important.

After all your batting is stapled down, work on the fabric. Start on one side and make sure to pull the fabric tight so that you end up with a flat surface. *This part is important.

Stop and admire your work.

Next comes the ribbon. I used just basic colors for my boards since the fabric had a little design to it. I didn’t measure exactly, but lay out four strips of ribbon in one direction (slanting) and then four strips in the other direction. Overlap your pieces, over/under, and pull tight before stapling.

If you’re talented enough, sew the ribbon where each intersects. I just used a glue dot underneath and then placed a button with a glue dot on the top to finish it off.

Hang and admire your work!

New Craft Room

Well, my craft room is finally complete. We got the room painted, window blinds put up and all my furniture is in place. It's still a little messy while I go through stuff, but you get the idea!

View of the closet.

View of the new window blinds and the corner desk.

View of the new work table.

View of the closet and book shelf.

Got my peg board hung finally.

This black storage organizer was at the end
of my table and I was finally able to hang it.
